BRECKENRIDGE, Minn. – Breckenridge High School cross country coach Randy Berndt collapsed at 8:06 a.m. on a run two Sundays ago after a massive heart attack. His dog, Max, normally energetic and requiring a leash, stood next to him and did not budge until an ambulance came.(via INFORUM)

Annandale enters Saturday’s state cross country meet as the defending Class A champion.

But the Cardinals are not the favorites. The target will instead be on the backs of the runners from top-ranked Trinity at River Ridge.
