Chloe Gonzalez of North Hunterdon Commits to Georgetown

Chloe Gonzalez of North Hunterdon, the top cross country returner in the state of New Jersey and outdoor 1600m NJSIAA Meet of Champions winner, announced Monday night that she has committed to Georgetown University

After official visits it came down to Georgetown, UPenn, and Villanova but Georgetown simply felt right to this distance star. "Georgetown just held a special place in my heart for a while, and I just knew it was the right decision and where I could see myself," Gonzalez stated.

Another past North Hunterdon great Julie Culley is the Director of Track and Field / Cross Country at Georgetown as well. A finalist in the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 5000m, Culley has a long successful history in the sport both as an athlete and a coach.

Gonzalez joins other past New Jersey talents such as Alyssa Aldridge, Lexi Del Gizzo, and Maya Drayton currently on the team.

This past weekend Gonzalez moved up to sixth all-time at Holmdel Park leading a wild New Balance Shore Coaches Invitational with a time of 17:45. She was second at the NJSIAA XC Meet of Champion last fall running 18:09 before following that with another second place finish at Nike Cross Regionals Northeast.

In the spring Gonzalez won her first Meet of Champions title with a PR 4:47.21 in the 1600m to defeat defending champion Abby Loveys.

The star senior also owns PRs of 2:15.15 in the 800m and 10:45.06 in the 3200m.
