WATCH: Kamil Jihad Kick To The Win In D.C.

Neumann Goretti's Kamil Jihad could be in line for a big season. The PIAA Class AA silver medalist in the 800 meters had a strong indoor season, but after Saturday, it looks like he could be gearing up for an even bigger outdoor season.

At Saturday's Crimson Tide Invitational in Washington, D.C., Jihad was locked in a fierce battle for the 800 meter win against South River (MD) senior Nick Boogades. Jihad used a strong finishing kick to run to the win in a time of 1:56.94, good enough for an early-season PA#2 behind just Josh Hoey of Bishop Shanahan.

On April 1 of last year, Jihad ran 2:00.90, so this could mean Jihad is well ahead of schedule. He ended up running a PR of 1:52.23 at the state championships, so be on the lookout for big things this spring from Jihad.
