The Trials of Miles hosted another elite meet on the track at Icahn Stadium Friday night and it featured plenty of New Jersey's top talent.

To start, Clemmie Lilley is now just outside the New Jersey top ten all-time for the outdoor 800m after her major drop to a 2:06.67! The Rumson-Fair Haven junior was second in the seeded girls race and now has the state lead this season by almost four seconds and breaks her into the US top-20.

Lilley's previous best was her indoor 2:08.30 to win the NJSIAA Meet of Champions in March, her outdoor best was a 2:10.62. The cutoff to break into the top-10 all-time outdoors is 2:06.42.

Rosemary Shay of Middletown South was seventh at 2:12.40, Angelina George 12th at 2:15.79, Olivia Capala 16th 2:19.58.

Freehold Township senior Emma Zawatski, who ran a US No. 12 ranked PR of 4:44.60 just last week during Penn Relays, follow up her stellar season start with a 4:44.64 crossing the line in sixth during the seeded girls mile.

Zawatski leads the mile and converted 1600m New Jersey list so far this season, one of only two girls listed sub-5 minutes including Shaelan McNally of Paul VI who just ran a 4:47.95 in the SJTCA Elite 1600m race this week.

Liliah Gordon of Northern Burlington was 15th with a 4:58.47 which is her best outdoor time at this distance, her indoor PR of 4:57.28 was set this past February.

Gordon has also run a 9:45.66 in the 3000m and 17:04.54 in the 5K this spring season showing great pace early. Kerry O'Day of Cherokee was 21st in that seeded girls mile with a time of 5:04.93.

On the boys side Peyton Shute of Woodbury dropped a 4:08.28 in the seeded mile running sixth overall, followed by Joe Barrett of Christian Brothers Academy at 4:10.11.

This is a massive mile PR for Shute who has shined especially at the 3200m distance in the past. His previous outdoor best in the mile run was a 4:12.13 last June and had set an indoor PR of 4:11.45 this past March at New Balance Nationals Indoor.

CBA's Barrett saw a major time drop as well, he had an indoor 1600m best of 4:15.00 this past March for third at Meet of Champs and an outdoor best of 4:15.57. This mile would convert down to a 4:08.66!

Jack Falkowski of CBA was eighth at 4:12.53, Robert Poplau was 10th 4:13.08, and Elijah Whitaker 19th 4:36.65.

The seeded 800m race also brought the heat for New Jersey led by Luke Schagelin of Morris Knolls who clocked a 1:51.68 for third overall and is now the NJ No. 1 ranked athlete by far this season. This was just off his PR of 1:51.63 which came in mid-June of last outdoor.

Howell's Michael Card was eighth with a 1:54.42, Adam Petitjean of Chatham 11th 1:55.88, and Connor Polen of Newark Academy 17th 1:59.88.

In the unseeded boys mile we also saw a sub-4:30 out of Highland Regional's Aziz Muhammad-Kane with a 4:29.00, Justin Bongiovanni of Mendham was 4:33.07 in that race as well.
