Waleed Suliman Switches Races At Last Second, Still Crushes Competition
The original plan for Douglas Freeman (Va.) High senior Waleed Suliman was to go toe-to-toe with Chantilly's Brandon McGorty in what was expected to be a phenomenal boys mile race.
But when McGorty scratched late because of illness, Suliman changed directions and entered into the 800m.
The result? Didn't matter. The Ole Miss signee still flew on the track to a US No. 9 time of 1:51.31.
