There were many surprises this past weekend and the biggest one of them all was how big this past weekend truly was. This weekend has officially come back as one of the biggest in the state all season after years of rebuilding since Maymont's departure.
Since the departure of VA's largest meet ever, the Maymont XC Festival, this weekend has been rebuilding into something totally different. Two meets, the RVA Relays and DCXC, have flipped the script on what a great XC meet looks like and created fun and excitement out of a weekend that previously had just one meet. These two meets are very different but share the same idea of adding some change to the season and a fun environment for everyone involved.
This weekend in particular saw both meets garner national attention for the performances produced there but also for the exciting and sometimes nail-biting races that happened.
