Men's Cross Country Opens at the Lou Onesty Open on Friday
A little over a week after the team was tabbed preseason No. 22 by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the men's cross country team gets set to start the 2011 season in Charlottesville, Va., at the Lou Onesty Open on Friday, September 9. The Hoyas also made an appearance in the Mid-Atlantic preseason rankings at No. 3 regionally. (via www.guhoyas.com)

Oakton sweeps at Great Meadow
Despite quite a few teams not able to attend due to the deteoriating weather conditions expected throughout the day with Hurricane Irene working its way up the East Coast on Saturday, a decent group of schools in Northern Virginia were able to make it to Great Meadow for the meet to be held under a revised and condensed race schedule. -

Oatlands Invitational Preview
The 2009 Oatlands Invitational should prove to be one of the biggest and most competitive meets in the state of Virginia this year with another great field of teams assembled by meet directors Derek Farrey and Matt Oblas. The meet will feature team of all classifications and different regions throughout the state of Virginia as well as schools from the states of Maryland and West Virginia. At last count, close to 90 schools in all will be represented on the Oatlands Plantation 5K course in Leesburg on Saturday, September 26th.
