MileSplit now offers live results hosting FREE for all meets!
For Hytek Meet Manager...
Hytek Meet Manager has long offered live results as a part of their pro software package. However, it has traditionally only been reserved for use by professional timers and only for the biggest meets. Why? Well partially because it required some technical knowledge and resources to set up an FTP server. "An FT-what?" you ask! Our point exactly.
Well now we want to make that easier so that any meet (with an internet connection at the event) can easily offer live results.
Don't worry, even if it looks intimidating at first... we've made it relatively painless now. Just follow these instructions...
Login to your meet's administration page on MileSplit you'll see a new "Live Results" section with the technical details.
Set a password (6-16 characters) there and then click save at the bottom of the page.
Now fire up your meet in Hytek and go to the "Run" screen.
Click on the "Web" option at the top, which will bring up a new window with the live results settings.
Enter the information provided in our meet manager page: site address (host), user name, password, and working directory.
Click "Test Website Connection" to verify that everything worked.
Click "Upload Event Schedule" to publish the base pages for the meet.
Click the "Upload Default Result Pages" to publish the base pages for each event.
You can click "Upload Heat Sheets or Performances Lists for Rounds Not Done" if you want, which will either upload the heat sheets (if meet is seeded) or upload the entry list (if not yet seeded).
Once the meet is running you can press the F11 key to send updated heat sheets or the F12 key on your keyboard to send the event's results.
A list of all meets that are publishing live is available at
http://live.milesplit.com and your meet will be on the list. This site is mobile friendly, so you can tell people at the meet to access it. (Hytek's meet pages are, however, not mobile-friendly... but still "kinda" work on mobile... we're working on a solution for this... stay tuned)
For RaceTab 3...
We've made it really easy and even automatic for RaceTab users who download their meets from MileSplit. Here is an instruction video showing it off...

After last year’s initial success, the Art Madric Hall of Fame Invitational looks to continue to grow this spring in its second year of existence in becoming the best outdoor track & field invitational. As we continue to grow and improve the quality of the meet, we also are searching for sponsors to help us put on a first rate event for coaches, athletes, and parents.
In partnering with this event, a potential sponsor would gain great exposure to a large audience between the great number of competitors and spectators expected for this event as well as additional exposure on a larger audience found on meet host Milesplit's network of affiliates, which consistently averages well over 500,000 page views a day.

The scenario is so ludicrous, it need only be put forth in a straight sentence: The nation's best prep long jumper, a two-time reigning state champion, will spend his junior season on his school's junior varsity team. Need your meet results passed along to a local newspaper? Just ask!
I received a few questions last weekend about passing results to local newspapers. This has not been my role in the past, but I'm happy to do that for you.
So, if you're a coach (I need to limit the requests just to coaches, please) and would like results from your meet forwarded to a local newspaper, please send me an e-mail in advance of the meet and give me the contact information (especially the e-mail address) of the local newspaper contact(s) to which you would like your meet results sent. Assuming I get those results the day of the meet--which happens in most cases--I will forward those results to the newspaper. Most larger newspapers, however, are reluctant to publish results later than the day after the meet.
Newspapers are also perfectly welcome to copy results from this site. Meet results are public domain and no copyright issues are involved. So, it may be easier to train your local sports editor on how to visit the site and find the required results directly.
It is my intent to retain mutually beneficial relationships with all newspapers in the state.
Meet directors are, of course, welcome to distribute meet results directly to newspapers on their own. Many meet directors already do this faithfully.
Thanks!
