Alahna Sabbakhan of St. John's College ran the nation's fastest time for 600 meters on Saturday at the Dr. Sander Invitational held at the Armory in New York City. Sabbahkan finished second in the race behind a race winner from Canada, but her runner-up time of 1:31.89 ranks her #1 overall in the United States currently in the event.

Saturday was a rare opportunity for Sabbakhan to run the 600 meter distance, which suits her range well as the junior has the speed to have run 1:14 for 500 meters and 55 seconds for 400 meters as well as developed into a strong middle distance runners sporting a 2:11 PR in the 800.
