Watch Thelma Davies Run US#1 6.77 In The 55 Meters

Thelma Davies has already taken her place as one of the best sprinters in state history. But she proved at the VA Showcase in Lynchburg, Virginia that she still has plenty more to give.

Davies, a Girard College junior, clocked a 6.77 in the prelims of the 55 meter dash on Friday afternoon. That improved Davies' own PR, which was previously 6.82 from last year's Millrose Games, where she earned the win. It's also the fastest F.A.T. time in state history; Central Dauphin East's Angel Doyle ran a 6.5 hand-time in the 60-yard dash in 1975. Davies remains at US#1 in the event.

Davies returned on Saturday for the finals, where she ran 6.86 for the overall win.She is undefeated this season in every race. She'll likely take that perfect record into Ocean Breeze this upcoming weekend.
