Weini Kelati Finishes 7th at NCAAs & Helps New Mexico To The National Team Title!

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Team Va alum and New Mexico freshman Weini Kelati just made the most of her first NCAA Championships by finishing an All-American 7th place. That place was not only great for her individually but also for the entire team as they went on to win a close team title battle over San Francisco and Oregon.

Weini's time was a very quick 19:35.77 for the 6K distance. Her teammate Edna Kurgat took home the individual title in 19:19.42. New Mexico's scored 90 points and finished: 1, 7, 12, 14, and 85.

Lake Braddock's Katy Kunc (Kentucky) finished 41st in 20:12, Lake Braddock's Hannah Christen ran 20:36, and Patriot's Rachel McArthur (Villanova) finished in 21:39.

The weather in Louisville was very windy with a slightly muddy course.
