Loudoun Valley Scores State Record Perfect 15 FTW!

THE PLAINS, Va. -  After a few weeks under the radar, the US #1 team, Loudoun Valley flexed their muscles in record fashion with their 1-2-3-4-5 finish in the 4A Championship race. This perfect score of 15 breaks the previous state record of 17 set back in 1972 and will never be broken.

Leading the way individually and now undefeated in VHSL state competition was Sam Affolder with his 15:20 finish. 2016 champion, Peter Morris, was second in 15:26 and then it was Colton Bogucki, Jacob Hunter, and Connor Wells. All five guys came in 16:04 or faster.

Loudoun Valley's 6th man, Kevin Carlson, was also the sixth scorer in 8th place with his 16:17 finish. Jacob Windle was 7th for them and finished in 37th for 29 points.

No matter which way you score it, Loudoun Valley dominated the race and likely the entire meet. If you even scored their 3-7 instead of 1-5 you'd still only have a total of 47 and that would mean they still win by 50 points.

Loudoun Valley's 88 point margin of victory is one of the largest in history. Dominion was second in this race with 103 points, Blacksburg was third with 104 while Grafton was fourth with 123.
